What it’s like working with me (and am I the right choice for you?)

I don’t know if I can help you - yet. But that’s the first thing we’ll find out when we connect.

The process starts with a conversation about your needs, challenges, and goals. From there, we’ll determine whether I’m the right fit to help you achieve them.

I approach every project with transparency, clarity, and flexibility. Once I have all the relevant information from you, I put together a proposal that typically includes three options with incremental deliverables and pricing.

Why the options? This approach lets you see what appeals to you, what aligns with your priorities, and what you can afford. The beauty of this model is that even if you don’t choose the higher option straight away, you can always upgrade later should your needs or budget evolve.

It’s important to note that my proposals aren’t estimates - they’re quotes. What you see is what you get. I include all expenses upfront, including travel costs if they apply. There are no hidden expenses or surprise charges tacked on later unless we mutually agree to change the scope of the project and its deliverables.

You’ll know exactly what you’re paying for before we begin, which means fewer headaches and more trust.

Practicality first and foremost

Above all else, I deliver solutions that you can implement now. My work isn’t based on securing future resources or waiting for ideal conditions - I focus on getting great results with what you have today.

Every strategy I develop comes with practical tools like checklists, flowcharts, and simplified diagrams, ensuring that the strategy stays top of mind and is easy to follow.

I believe in making things simple and actionable. This approach helps your team make immediate progress and keeps momentum alive long after the workshops or strategy sessions are over. You won’t just get a strategy from me - you’ll get a roadmap that works within your current constraints and is designed for you to see tangible results.

I also work with clients to provide ongoing support in the form of check-ins, mentoring, or monthly advisory retainers. The latter generally includes unlimited advisory support via email, so you can rest assured that whenever you need me and my advice, I’m there for you.

Process and payment

Once you're happy with the proposal, that's when we roll up our sleeves and get to work. For strategy projects, we might kick things off with an initial online session to ensure we’re aligned on goals and expectations. This is followed by one or two half-day workshops on-site to gather all the relevant information.

These sessions are incredibly valuable - they allow us to dig deep into your organisational culture, priorities, challenges, and opportunities.

But my role doesn’t end with those workshops. I dive into everything I can find that will help me understand your context - industry reports, internal documents, previous campaigns - anything that sheds light on your current situation.

I also conduct a detailed analysis of your existing channels, content, and messaging. What have you done before? What worked, and what didn’t? These insights help me craft a strategy that’s not just creative, but grounded in real-world data and actionable steps.

In terms of payment, I generally ask for 50% upfront. This helps with cash flow and signals mutual commitment to the project. The remaining 50% is due upon delivery of the final work. This simple, two-part payment structure makes things smooth for both of us.

Simplified solutions for non-strategy work

If you’re looking for something more straightforward - like a content review, team training, or process evaluation - the process is simpler (and quicker). We might skip the deep-dive workshops and instead focus on targeted improvements based on your current situation.

Clients often come to me with specific pain points, such as internal buy-in issues or risk aversion, engagement issues, or the need for team upskilling. In those cases, my job is to diagnose the problem quickly and offer practical solutions that can be implemented without a complete overhaul.

For example, I’ve helped clients by providing team training sessions, reviewing and enhancing existing strategies, or offering guidance on navigating tricky stakeholder dynamics. Whatever the task, my approach is always to provide solutions that make sense for your unique situation - not cookie-cutter advice.

Why choose me?

I’m not going to tell you I’m the best choice for every organisation. I’m not. But if you value clarity, flexibility, and a collaborative approach, then I might be the right fit for you.

My goal is to help you achieve meaningful results without overcomplicating the process. I’m straightforward about what I can deliver, and I make sure to keep communication open every step of the way. If you're looking for someone who blends data-driven insights with creative thinking - and who won’t leave you in the dark when the project ends - then we might work well together.

At the end of the day, working with me is a partnership. I care deeply about the work I do, the people I work with, and I invest time and energy in helping my clients succeed long-term. If that sounds like the kind of relationship you’re looking for, I’d love to hear from you and explore how we can collaborate.

What clients say

Don’t just take my word for it - here’s what some of the people I’ve worked with have to say:

“Seamus’s guidance provided us with a strategy that was not only easy to understand but also actionable. It gave us a roadmap that we could follow with confidence.”

“Thanks to Seamus, our team was able to develop a comprehensive social media strategy and stick to it.”

“Seamus smashed it out of the park. Everyone was buzzing afterwards.”
